Nigeria Is At War

Before I go any further, I will like to remind us that I'm not a news agency, so this is not a news. Just me voicing my opinion on the present state of Nigeria - WE ARE AT WAR

The terrorist group called Boko Haram is tearing up the country slowly and the reaction of the citizens (80% of the population) is disappointing.

Boko Haram which means western education is forbidden, started by bombing churches and yet they say it is against education. We all know that's a load of crap - But that is not the focus of this post. The focus is on the reaction of Nigerians

You see the reaction of Nigerians far away from the bombings was just, a little sentiment "ehh, eeya, may God help the families", "ah it will not be well with this hausa people o", "thank God none of my family member or friends are there" - Because as long as it's  just some ish happening far away and not affecting me directly, it is cool right?

Even the president of Nigeria went dancing and singing at a campaign rally while nation mourned bomb blast victims 2 months ago. Our lives mean nothing, as long as your family is safe, it's all good.
I like the comments I read on premium times, he was lambasted.

Look at the incident concerning the chibok girls.
Abubakar Shekau, the face of boko haram said, "just because I took some girls, everybody is making noise..."

I agree to that. Don't get me misunderstood. My point is, people were bombed (burned alive or had buildings collapse on them), reaction: sentiment. Girls were kidnapped, reaction: noise (#BringBackOurGirls)

I still wonder who this bring back our girls thing is directed to.
The president? The elites? Governors? The army? Politians? Foreign power? or Boko Haram? Who?

I wonder, why was Ex Gov. Bola Tinubu holding a board with the inscription "BringBackOurGirls Sharply" and smiling? Is it a joke? Is this funny?

Look at Mitchell Obama's face, she isn't even from Nigeria but you can see the sadness on her face

or Dwayne Johnsons face, he looked like he was about to go "Rock Bottom" on Jonathans' ass or Shekau...which ever.

They say BringBackOurgirls is to show that people will not rest until the girls are brought back.
Err..that's  lie..I am resting.. You are resting.. So stop lying , you'll go to hell.

The only people not resting are the military (mainly the field soldiers though). And the soldiers could have been able to contain the insurgency, at least thwart most of their plans and save lives, if not for them being inadequately equipped and the presence of bad eggs at the top (in the political sector and military, but shhh, try exposing and you get killed).

I was pissed when I heard the president say, "we have help from abroad, so I'm optimistic that we will find the girls" - like shut the f**k up mhen (pardon me sir...lol... I gass be safe )

But really, Is our own army for show? Cant the bad eggs set the foreign military up also? Better go do some weeding, take out the bad eggs and fund the soldiers, equip them well.
Even a kid that plays call of duty will not pick a Kalashnikov 47(AK-47)  to fight terrorist with STG-44 #JustSaying

We are underestimating the boko haram terrorist.
I saw a couple of videos and pictures from my uncle (for security reasons, I cant post what he said or upload any of the pictures or videos here). The weapons of the terrorist is not "stick and stones", they have something as deadly as a M12 FAV 'warthog", while the Nigerian army is battling them with Kalashnikov - I pity them.
As my uncle put it, "Boko Haram is dealing with us. We kill few of them, they kill and injure a lot of us"

M12 FAV "Warthog"

We all thought they will die down the same way they came, suddenly. But instead they are getting more brazen

"the moment you underestimate your enemy, you lose the battle before it begin" - Art of War

Boko Haram is not doing random bombings as we all think. They are bombing strategically.

      Some Thoughts

·       can we have checkpoints in strategic places to be able to respond rapidly to a suspicious sighting. After all, we need an army that will protect us, not one that counts the amount of dead and injured in an explosion.

·       can the army stop violating humanitarian rights (what makes you different from what you are fighting). Stop beating civilians and doing whatever you want on the streets. You are here to protect or enforce lordship. Illegal searches, torture and extrajudicial killings should be stopped.
·       fortify the soldiers well. I heard a sad story of a boy that just finished from the Nigerian Defense Academy and got sent to the battle ground to join the fight against Boko Haram...he died...all 5 years in the academy gone to waste. It won't hurt to give the soldiers warthogs or gladiators, riot shields, flash bangs...(if you don't have them, then shame on the military). If you cant do an air strike because of civilian casualty, at least air scout will help a lot. The lives of the soldiers should be considered as well as the civilians too

Let me stop here, the president is not reading this

But as they say, " you are 5 people away from someone "important""

My point is, let's get passionate and talk/do something

If a bunch of students can get passionate about the changing of their school name from unilag to maulag, then a majority of us can cause a change by being driving by our passion to act.

Ye that can pray, pray (the most important). Ye activist, activate something. Ye Elites, connect with your connections and Oga at the tops in the military, help the field soldiers.

We need to stop acting like it's all cakes and cream - this is war. So threat is as such, get serious.

Thank you for reading. Have a nice day
